Corrupted Software?

Hello, all!

After quite a bit of reading here on the forum, I think I have determined that my NAV 2007 software has somehow become corrupted.

The following thread describes my problem:

However, the end solution tells the original poster that his problem is with a third party firewall, which I do not have.

Again, for clarity, I am running NAV 2007, and NOT NIS!!!

I do not run any other Norton products.

I also run Spysweeper current version.

I do not have any other firewall program, other than the windows firewall.

Not long ago, my NAV interface began to show "Advanced Firewall At Risk.  This happened after either a live-update for NAV, or possibly, a Windows Update.

I have already gone through disabling Windows Firewall (which NAV does not accomplish on its own), but it does not solve the "Advanced Firewall" problem.

I am aware, through looking at online screenshots of both program interfaces (NAV and NIS) that the Advanced Firewall is not even supposed to be part of NAV, and so should NOT be showing up as an option on the interface.

If it turns out that I end up having to do a complete uninstall of NAV, and re-install, then how do I do this?  What about subscription issues?

I obtained my 2007 version by upgrading each year to the new version, at subscription renewal time.  However, even though I have continued to renew subscription, I have never upgraded past NAV 2007.  So, the only CD version of NAV I have is my original, NAV 2005.

I almost forgot to say, I also cannot use technical support, either within my product, or from the website.  I get script errors within the product when I attempt chat.  At first, I had the same problem trying to use the email option within the product, but finally was able to send an email tonight.  However, I only put "corrupted software NAV 2007" in the email message, because I was basically just doing a test email, since I had tried several times before and failed.

Any advice will be most appreciated.

Angela
