Could NIS2010 interfere with DVD burning?

I'm not sure whether this is a NISS2010 problem or not. It may just be a coincidence, but since I "updated" to 2010 from 2009 version, I now have trouble burning DVD's. I've tried three differnent Programs and the same problem occurs, so I smell a rat!!

The problem is when thhe program is reading the DVD Disc. It gets to approx  70% of read and then stops.  A message appears "unable to read bad sector". Seems very strange how three different Programs respond in the same way. The Programs in question are :- CloneDVD, AnyDVD and Nero.

I've tried several Disc's which are all in good condition, so I can't see how the same "read error" could happen with several Disc's.

Also, it's not a "copyright" thing for abvious reasons. So, all I can think of is the new version of NISS2010 somrhow interfereing with the "read" operation. Has anyone else encountered this type of problem? If so, how can I fix it. If not, any suggestions?
