Could Norton Internet Security be blocking access to a projector when connected?

On two recent occasions I've connected my 2016 MacBook Pro, running MacOS Mojave, to a projector in a conference room.
My MacBook has detected it is connected to a HDMI cable and something on the other end, but the projector is not displaying my screen. Tech staff have not been able to work out why. The conference room was not my facility and I do not know the projector type.

I have a personal projector that connects every time.

My question is, could my connection settings in Norton Internet Security be responsible for NOT letting the projector connect to my MacBook Pro?

Hello ThePhys. I'm following up on your status. Is your issue corrected, can we assist further?

You're very welcome. Please let us know what your results are.

Many thanks to you both. I was using a USB C adaptor. I've purchased now a direct USBC to HDMI and will re-assess it on my next projector connection. I will also be downloading the drivers. I appreciate your swift and practical replies.

Were you using an USB-c to HDMI setup or regular HDMI both ways? You MAY want to give these drivers a go to see if they correct the issue. The issue you are seeing is NOT new and is discussed in this article and site.

I have asked this thread be moved to the Mac board for better exposure.
