Could not run chkdsk utility after upgrading to NIS2012

Hello there,

Hello there,

Try these steps :

1) Click on Start and type " cmd " on the start search.
2) You can see "cmd" option in the search results.
3) Right click on CMD option and select Run As Administrator.
4) You can see the command prompt window.
4) There type , " chkdsk " and hit on enter button.
5) It will informed you that check disk utility can be run in the next restart.
6) Type " Y " and hit enter.
7) Restart your computer. Check disk will run.

Hello there.

Thanks for the help.

However, I resolved the issue by reinstalling the whole NIS2012 before reading this post. Did this with my other comp as well an it worked. Now everytime I schedule chkdsk to run during startup will run

Funny that an upgrade installation from NIS2011 will not work but a clean install will.

Thanks for the willingness to help.

However, managed to resolve the whole issue by doing a clean NIS2012 installation. Same goes to my other laptop as well.

Funny that an upgrade installation screwed my comp up but a clean install works perfectly fine.

Best regards,

Hi,

Funny that an upgrade installation screwed my comp up but a clean install works perfectly fine. Not so funny as a continuing prolem that we care seeing with the Internet getting faster and more crouded. It only takes the loss of a few bits or bytes to scramble a download. The software is designed to load over the previous version - when both are error free. As the saying goes life happens.

Stay in touch, the light's always on

PS: If the problem is solved you are the only one who can hit the checkmark to say so. It's only housekeeping but it does help others who are passing through to try and help.

Again, thanks
