I guess I have 2 related topics:
1) I'm trying to create a recovery disk in Ghost 12.0 that includes the ICH9R RAID drivers I need for the new computer I'm going to transition to via repair install. I successfully add the driver, Ghost recognizes it, but at the 99% point of creating the recovery disk I get a BSOD (STOP 0x00000024 complains about ntfs.sys). I've checked my drives and they are fine. Is Ghost 12.0 trying to use the ICH9R driver on my old PC? If so, do I have to clean install XP and Ghost12 on my new PC just so I can create a recovery disk? Or is there an easier workaround?
2) 2nd topic is about RAID itself - I've read knowledgebase article saying Ghost 12 doesn't support software RAID1. However, I also see posts saying it might work. I can set up the RAID1 array in BIOS and then NTFS format it using BartPE disk. So, when I run Ghost 12 recovery disk (with driver above added) it will see an empty RAID1 array already NTFS formatted. Will this scenario workaround the Ghost 12 software RAID issues?
Hi a1smith,
While the workaround MIGHT work for you, software RAID is not supported for any Norton Ghost product.
