Hello,
I'm getting the "disk read error" when my system tries to boot, so I can't boot into windows 7. I tried all the normal fixes, so I'm ghosting over to a new HDD, and possibly using the old HDD for storage (slave?).
So I'm using a Norton 15 boot disk and when I try to use the "back up" utility it doesn't see my new HDD (it does however show up in the BIOS). I can also see it in the Norton Ghost partition edit utility, it just has zeros in all the fields so I assume I need to partition the thing before i can create in image on it.
How do I do this? I don't know much about HDDs and from what I read there's alot of talk about MBRs, sectors and sorts of jargon that I am unfamiliar with.
