Hi i purchased NIS2012 2 days ago after using windows 7 firewall with advanced rules. I would like to know if anyone has disabled NIS firewall and used windows with advanced rules?. Im currently trying NIS with auto program controll off and adding rules myself but im confused of how to add rules for norton dns. When on default i notice that norton adds remote port 53 to nearlly all my apps so i guess thats the same way as adding port 53 to the svchost dns client? on windows 7 i had a rule:
Allow svchost (DNS Client) UDP remote port: 53 remote address (Norton DNS IPS)
how would i go about setting a rule like this to nis or would adding remote port 53 to every app work the same way?, thanks.
