I have the mks toolkit installed — and cybercapture is scanning every exe, ie ls, cat, grep, vi — how do I stop this?
…if you disagree with Norton
have you added Antivirus & Scans exclusions?
have you added App permissions?

AI Overview
“CyberCapture” is a feature in Norton, and other antivirus software like Avast, that detects and analyzes rare, suspicious files, which is enabled by default to block unrecognized files.
Here’s a more detailed explanation:
-
What is CyberCapture?
- CyberCapture is a feature designed to identify and analyze potentially malicious files that are not yet recognized by standard antivirus signatures.
- It’s enabled by default in many antivirus programs, including Avast and Norton, to block unrecognized files.
-
How does it work?
- When CyberCapture detects a suspicious file, it’s automatically sent to the antivirus company’s threat labs for analysis.
- This allows the company to learn about new threats and update their detection capabilities.
-
Norton and Cybercapture
- Norton uses a similar feature to Cybercapture to detect and analyze suspicious files.
- Norton’s feature is called “Cybercapture”.
-
How to manage Cybercapture
- You can exclude certain files temporarily from all scans, shields, and CyberCapture at once.
- You can also configure your Norton product to exclude certain programs from the Auto-Protect and Behavioral Protection scans.
-
Cybercapture and Norton Community
- There are discussions in the Norton Community about Cybercapture, including instances where it flags installers and .exe files.

Norton Community is primarily user-to-user “working” product help.
Norton Community does not have access to your Norton account, subscription nor payment profile.
thx for the app info — I will try to set it there
CACLS is a depreciated command, please try adding exclusions using icalcs instead.
