How was the partial password Norton displayed, in a DW notification to me that I don't recall ever using, linked to verify my email address? What am I missing?
Dark Web Monitoring.

If you received a Password Combo List Dark Web notification, read this article for the next steps you can take to help protect your information. For any other Dark Web breach alerts, read Learn what to do if you were informed of a breach.
If you are able to see the information in the alerts, you do not need a verification code. The first time I tried to read the information in an alert, some information was masked. That is when I was prompted to request the code. After I received the code and entered it into the Norton site, the information was available to me. And subsequent logins no longer required verification on my email.

Change the password associated with the email address that has shown up. If you use that email address as a userid anywhere it would be wise to change those passwords also.
xjoex, Are you saying to change the password I use on my Norton Life-Lock, account? Is the Drak Web able to monitor and hack Norton too? What a mess! How would most people have any way to find or access all the passwords they've ever used, let alone on what websites!? I appreciate your comment.
It is your email address that has shown up on the dark web and not neccesarily your password but it is prudent to change the password you are using there to something long and strong.
