unusual I thought, anyway, I noticed some had new content by viewing the actual forums ..... so what's going on there ??
I've been meaning to post on another aspect of this -- if by dashboard you mean the bit where bookmarks and subscriptions are listed -- because I know I flagged messages and they don't appear.
The reason would seem to be that there is a display limit to 10 entries and I haven't found any ability to view the rest .....
Yes, at the bottom of the dashboard it says I have two more pages but doesn't give anyway from there to get to them!
I had to eventually find the rest by going into Manage Bookmarks, then at the very bottom of the preferences that can be changed there are tabs to "Subscribed Posts or Subscribed Threads, Bookmarked Messages Bookmarked Threads etc etc .
When you view Subscribed threads you then get a "next page" option.
However, it still doesn't answer why I was getting no updates about new posts ??
And why on earth do we get notification emails about our own replies lol
I use lots of other forums where the software used can distinguish your posts from others and not inform you of your own added content.
<< And why on earth do we get notification emails about our own replies lol >>
I don't get those -- ISTR an option not to get notification of messages we have already read and since I always re-open mine after posting to get rid of the Unread Message bolding that might explain that one!
We have been told a while ago that there are updates to the Forum system in hand -- it is BETA after all -- so maybe this will be added or dealt with.
PS Are you really a Liver Bird -- a scouse? <g> I was born in the Wirral and my mother in Sefton Park when it was respectable <g>

On your profile, there is an option on the bookmarks and subscription tab called "Always Receive Subscription Notifications" which by default is not checked. The reason to check this box would be if you had switched to the digest type of notification above. Could you check your setting there please and let me know?
As far as the dashboard goes, you might want to play with the setting "Automatic Page Refresh interval" on the preferences tab. I believe that will have to be set for the dashboard to update automatically. Close the dashbaord window and reopen it anytime you change the value.
Tucked away under My Profile as Matt suggests there is the option I mentioned to not be notified if we have read a message,
and as I said I always read mine to get them out of Unread Messages (it might be an idea if when one clicked on Post the system took you to your message and not to the one you have just replied to? That would automatically Read=mark it.)
Ok, I have been through all of my settings and options etc and adjusted like you said........ I also adjusted amount of subscriptions to show from 10 to 20, although this does not effect the dashboard but does display the 20 on the "main" page.
Have set auto refresh but was refreshing manually anyway ?
Today I did have the updated report of these two posts in this thread, all others report "0" ....... I will check them ot and see if indeed there has been no added content and report back.
Thanks to both of you for your suggestions :)
EDIT
Ok, everything appears as it should be now, thanks again.
PS, yes, I am a Liverpool Girl, not far from Sefton park really

Automatic Page Refresh Interval will cause tabs or browser windows displaying the forum front page, thread listings, and the dashboard to update at the intervel set. A value of like 3-10 minutes should be good for most users.
And yes the page content refreshes (manually) constantly as people navigate the community. In general the average user does not need the Automatic Page Refresh Interval setting, the exception to that would be those users wanting to make use of the dashboard feature.
Yes, the dashboard display is limited to 10 subscriptions, at this time there is no way to change that.
Thanks Allen ;)
**Is there any way of re-ordering our list of subscribed threads ........ basically so that the 10 that show on the dashboard can be the 10 you want there ??
