Data protector processes

Norton 360 has been interfering with the latest version of a software package I use for my business.  Specifically, Data Protector appears to be interfering with the transfer of the thousands of files by the nearly 500 executables upon which this program relies, and causing it to regularly crash.  If I disable Data Protector, the problems go away, but of course I didn't pay for this product only to disable one of it's major components.

Excluding file types doesn't appear to be the best option, as there are too many, and this would leave some of my most important data unprotected.  Excluding the 494 executables upon which this application relies from the Data Protector processes would appear to be the preferred approach.  I can even port the list of executables and their paths to a simple text file.

However, it appears Norton provides no convenient or practical way to add process exclusions to Data Protector.  The interface won't even allow you to paste a path/file.exe into a dialog (which would still take a long time with 494 entries).  It appears the only way to exclude a process is to browse to each one individually thru an interface as crude and antique as Windows 3.1.  It would take me so long to do this for all of the required processes, and then to repeat it each time I upgrade this software, that it's a total no-go.

Is there a text-editable file (eg. .ini file) to which I could just paste the paths and filenames for the processes I want excluded from Data Protector?  If not, Norton really needs to provide some sort of import, or at least a simple Paste, to enter such processes.

I am running Norton 360 on Windows 11 Pro.  The conflicting program is Dassault Systemes SIMULIA / CST.

Edit:
I imagine your issue might be helped if you were able to run the "latest version of a software package" from a folder and if you were able to exclude that folder from Data Protector.   As you know Data Protector exclusions are only per process.

I imagine your issue might be helped if all the files (created files) in the "latest version of a software package" were trusted by Norton.

Maybe, all the "software package" exe, dlls, sys, created .tmp files are not signed.

IMO you should be able to readily exclude whatever needs excluding to run this "software package" or any trusted (by user) software.

Hi @bjm_.  Are you saying that there's no way the product can presently accommodate my issue, and that I should contact Norton with a request to change the product?

Well, if I were able to reproduce.  I may be able to advise further.
Since, I cannot reproduce and your topic has not received other replies.

btw: I've needed to temporarily disable Norton Data Protector to run trusted installers.
Note: my experience with Norton Data Protector block events is limited to main executables and .tmp files created by installers.  As you described in your opening post is way beyond my experience and imagination.

Maybe, regarding "the latest version of a software package"
Please check File Insight against all file types that File Insight checks...for example: exe, sys, dll.
Please check Norton Insight -> Untrusted Files -> Unproven/Poor and if file/s are trusted (by user) -> click the trusted file -> click Trust Now -> Refresh page.
