I've just installed 'Powerquest Data Keeper' version 5 to make incremental backups of my data. I've created four different DKS specification files (I am presuming it speeds up the monitoring and backup process to break the files down like this? Please correct me if I'm wrong!).
The help files suggest that if you have more than one DKS file then you should create desktop shortcuts for each one. I've done this. But now what? Do I have to do something else to ensure Datakeeper is monitoring all four files and backing up to them as well? Or does it do it automatically? How can I tell if it's all working?
My other question is: when i created my four DKS files (My Files, My Music, My Pictures & My Downloads) I only selected the folder relevant to the file I was creating (just my music folder for the music file). However, when I opened the file after monitoring began, every folder under C drive had been selected. I know I didn't do this, so what is going on?
I'm baffled. I wonder if i should just have created the one backup/DKS file. Any advice would be welcome.
