Deaktivieren der Backup-Funktion für bestimmte Geräte / Deactivating the backup function for certain devices

Hallo zusammen,

MfG

Hello everyone,

I am using Norton 360 Premium for 10 devices and would like to use the backup function to back up my data.
However, as the 10 activated devices also include devices belonging to other family members, I would like to deactivate the backup function for these devices so that only I have access to my backed-up data.
The others should not see which files I am backing up or should not have access to them.
Is there any way to enable the backup function for my device only and disable it for the others?

Best regards
heusmich

Cloud Backup requires Sign In to your Norton account…so, don’t share your Norton account credentials with other users/family.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes, that would be a good idea but I have a subscription for Norton that extends the license every year and I´m not sure what happens if I´m not logged in in Norton.
Do you know if the subscription will be extended anyway on all devices even if I´m not logged in?

You can be logged in at Norton 360 product Home page on your machine…while other Norton 360 users are not signed in (to your Norton account) at Norton 360 product Home page on their machine/s…so, you get to use Cloud Backup and they do not.

Sign In to your Norton account at your Norton 360 product Home page…on your machine.

which signs you in to your Norton 360 product on your machine…not to your Norton account login.norton.com webpage

and sign in at your Norton account login.norton.com web page does not sign in to your Norton 360 product

~ regardless of whether you’re signed in at Norton 360 product Home page or at login.norton.com webpage…your automatic renewal subscription will renew.

OK, but this means everytime the subscription will be extended, I have to login on the other computers one time to extend the license on these devices?

Extend your protection to your other devices [here]

OK, I think we’re talking past each other right now.
Or I misunderstand what you mean, also possible.

Let me explain it a little bit more detailed.
Since a few years I use Norton 360 for 10 devices. These 10 licenses are installed on some of my devices but also on some devices from my family. In the past I bought a new license every year or every 2 years. Means I had to activate the new license manually on all devices as soon as the old license expired.
The last license I bought is a license with a yearly subscription, means it will extend the license automatically once a year.

Now the question is whether I have to be logged into the Norton program on all computers with my login data so that these computers will also receive the license renewal.

The problem is, if I have to be logged in, the other family members will see the files from my backup and this should not be.

So for me the question is, does the license on all computers from other family members also extend if I´m not logged in to the Norton app or on the web portal or do I have to be logged in?

my understanding & as per Norton support:

You do not need to be logged into the subscription for automatic renewal to work.

Automatic renewal is the option with the subscription…automatic renewal will work on each device that has Norton plan installed.

Automatic renewal will extend term on all devices which are added because auto renewal works with the subscription.

Automatic renewal extends term on all devices regardless whether you/users are signed in or not signed in.

You need to be signed in at your machine to use Cloud Backup. Other users on their machine will not see your files because they’re not signed in on their machine to your Norton account.

Hi,

sorry for my late response, I didn´t have time the last few days.
Thank you very much for your response and answers to my questions.
Now I know how it will work.
