After a gruesome installation process of NIS4 on OS X (10.6.1) I've finally gotten quite a few NIS functions up and running. Norton Confidential doesn't work, but that's no news I believe.
Where I'd like some help is getting the Deepsight stuff in the Firewall running. I constantly get the message that "The Norton DeepSight Community list is empty or missing" when I click configure in the Advanced Settings tab.
When I click "About Norton Firewall" in the menu bar, it says "Subscription expires Unavailable", which might be the culprit. I also have a "Register Norton Firewall" option in the menu bar which seems strange to me - I bought NIS yesterday online @ Symantec and have already filled in the questions in the registration page; plus NAV doesn't show me the same menu item.
Lastly, while I'm typing this I hear the fans starting to spin seriously. A quick glance at the Activity Monitor shows it's Norton Firewall which is consuming 65% of CPU. I've left the 'About' window open and closing that returns things to normal. This is the most CPU intensive 'About' window I've ever seen...
Any help would certainly be appreciated!
- Emile (a somewhat disappointed Emile that is; I'd expected more from Symantec in terms of SL compatibility - afraid I didn't check before buying as all other programs I use have no problem whatsoever with SL...)
