Hi,
I recently (by mistake) restored a part of my C drive directory structure to a folder on my C drive. This restore contained a copy of the directory ".\Symantec\SRTSP\Quarantine" and ".\Symantec\SRTSP\SrtETmp"
I now want to delete these but the operating system won't let me. Error message is "Access is Denied".
I assume that Noron is preventing these duplicates from being deleted. How can I delete these without uninstalling Norton?
Thanks,
Marek
Ok thanks.
Marek.
As Stu suggests best way out of messes is to uninstall and reinstall but I suggest in your case especially to run the Norton Removal Tool which you can download from the Symantec Web Site since it is supposed to remove all traces of everything Norton (you have no choice so if you have another Norton product be forewarned).
Even then I'd make a note of where the duplicates are and see if they are removed by NRT or not.
Thanks. I'll do that.
Marek.
Let us know how you get on – do watch for other Norton products like GHOST or Save & Restore in case it affects them. ANd make sure you have either opened a Norton Account to save your KEY and/or have a record of it off the disk.
ok. I've only got Norton internet security and I have the key. Just need to find a spare hour or so to do the reinstallation. I'll let you know what happens.
Marek.
I guess not.
Best solution is to reinstall I'm affraid
