The only posting I could find on this topic seems to give instructions for deleting the LOCAL vault.
It states:
If you want delete identity safe completely you have option to delete identitysafe
Go to NIS Main UI-> Web-> identitysafe->Login to identitysafe -> click of configure for delete data,
I assume "Go to NIS Main UI-> Web-> identitysafe" means go to the desktop NIS UI - Settings - Web, since there is no "Web" button on the NIS UI itself. When you get to the Identity Safe section there, you will find no options such as those stated above. You will be able to turn off Identity Safe or delete data, but that will affect your LOCAL vault, not your ONLINE vault.

Thank you for replying, but I guess I am just dense.
What does "login to your NA & Online vault first" mean? Is NA Norton Antivirus? I am using Norton Internet Security (NIS) 2012. I see no way to access my online vault through my desktop NIS user interface (UI).
What does "Open a browser, etc. mean? I see no way to access a browser, either from my NIS desktop UI or after I log onto my Norton account.

Can you please clarify on how did you created a Online Identity safe vault?
When creating the online vault, first you need have a Norton Account(NA) for yourself and you will be logging into Norton Account from our product and create an Online Identity safe vault.
Is this what you did? and now you are trying to delete the Online vault created through this process?

Yes, that is correct.
If I log onto my Norton account and select "Norton Identity Safe" under "Norton Apps," all of my logins are displayed, but there seems to be no way of deleting them, either as a group or individually.

The one you view in this URL : https://identitysafe.norton.com/ is the read only view of your identity safe vault and you cannot edit or delete the logins from that URL. You need to login to the vault from the product which is installed on your machine. If you are using Norton Internet Security 2012, just follow this:
1. If the product(NIS 2012) is already installed on your mahcine, double click on the icon which is available on your desktop
2. Click on settings button which you can see on the UI(User interface) screen which opens
3. Click on Web tab
4. Click on Identity safe from the list displayed on the left
5. Click on Login to Identity Safe or Setup Identity safe
6. In the pop-up which opens, click on Login to Norton Account and enter your Norton account credentials
7. It will open a new screen asking to enter the Vault password, enter the Online vault password there
8. And from the settings window which displayed you can click on the configure button pertaining to "Delete Data" and that would delete the vault.
