<<  Norton Protected Files, >>

I'd suggest you go into Help and see what that tells you but in essence Norton Protection adds one more layer to the Recycle Bin so that even deleted files do not disappear from recovery possibilities until the space is needed for new files to be recorded. Until that time they are even easier to recover if needed.

At least that is what I remember from when I used to have it with SystemWorks but I'm only using NIS and N360 now and not the utilities.

With today's giant hard drives compared with the 10 MB on my first PC there is perhaps less need for this extra protection?
