I have spoken twice at great length on the phone to the Tech Support people at Symantec-Norton about finding a reasonably quick, efficient and painless way of deleting all my online backup files so that I may start (backing up) again from anew.
Their only reply was to go to the Backup Settings and delete each file individually. Some of these files are minute 0.1 KB (!!!) files. This appears to be a very long-winded and time consuming way of deleting.
I am running Windows XP Home Ed. with the Norton 360 v2 product. I have just recently renewed my subscription for a 3rd year.
I've been reading the posts, replies and solutions that have been written on the Norton Community site.
However the replies/responses have been for Norton 360 v3, and not v2.
Thanx for letting me know about the (free) update. I used the following info/thread/post to help me free up 1.8gb, but not the full 2.0gb.
"I finally figured it out. I went to Computer > Other : Norton Backup Drive > Backups on Secure Online Storage > and found 3 Backup sets, and deleted 2 of them."
Wish I had been told about this by the Tech Support people, and I wouldn't have wasted a couple of hours of my life that I'll never get back!!! It's actually quite shocking that even though they told me that I had v2, they couldn't/wouldn't tell me about v3!!! Perhaps they were more worried about selling me some more online backup (=commission) rather than actually giving the support service that they partly sell themselves upon???
