I am a research psychologist. I was having problems with Family Client and my research. I am the co-administrator of this account. I decided to opt out of this program and lock my computer down with passwords. My wife still had control of our Family Client.
The problems began when I tried to delete Family Client from my computer. I tried to get the removal information from Norton. I use Windows Vista. Norton advised me to go into programs and features and delete “Family Client”. It is not there. I told them that. They agreed with me. BUT, for, a fee of $50 to $200, I could get someone in India to remove Family Client from my computer. HUH?
Here is a better solution. Delete all other users from your computer. Disable “guest”. Delete everything Norton entirely from your computer. Reboot.
Go to mynortonaccount and re-download all of your Norton programs. I know this is a pain in the a##, but Norton is being a pain in the a## by not being truthful about getting family client off your computer.
You would think that Norton would charge us a few pennies more (per piece of software) and give us decent customer service. DUH!
