How do delete files from the Norton 360 backup storage permanently, so they can’t be restored.
Hi defendit,
Please try the steps given in this Support link to delete the backed up files in N360.
Thanks,
Umai
Hi defendit,
Thanks for your question. The files that are backed up should be available to you via your drives listings. Along with the C: drive and your optical drives should be a listing for Norton Backup Drive. You should be able to navigate and remove files just like with any other drive.
I understand you being concerned with your files being stored on the cloud. Please know that your file security is important to us. Therefore we encrypt the files on the server so no one can simply download and view them. Please let me know if this information was helpful or if you require further assistance.

Check out this document for instructions on deleting files from backup:
Under the "What" tab of the online backup configuration, you can specify files or folders to exclude in the future.
Hi Prasanna.,
I've already try that option. I have this message cannot delete, you must have one backup set.
Thanks anyway.
William
Hi,
You can also delete the files from the Norton drive available in your windows explorer.
Did you try that option?
regards,
Prasanna.
Hi,
If you have difficulty in deleting the backed up files, you can contact the Norton Online Chat support here.
They will help you to purge your files.
Thanks,
Umai
Hello,
On the main norton 360 UI, click on manage backup sets, then click on the tab called "where".
At the very bottom end of the screen, you should be seeing a hyperlink called "Delete previously backed up files", click on it, it will open a window, you can select all the files and delete them, you will have a drop down to select the backup sets.
Hope this helps
