Well, after 20 years of being careful, someone broke into my car and made off with my laptop. It had every software known to man installed (almost) EXCEPT LoJack. I called support and asked them if they could piggyback lojack onto a live update but they said "no". It has Vista Ultimate, Norton 360, Skype, RSS feeds from craigslist ads, Office97, ....
I ran a "I buy laptops" ad on craigslist hoping to get a reply and will report it to the police but I was hoping there was some more likely way to get it back or at least disable the numerous passwords stored in there.
I do plan to change them all but it will take a lot and I'm really worried. Any Ideas?
Thanks

Hermanussen,
Unfortunately almost all of us have gotten comfortable with different things only to be stung with complacency at a later point in life. (For me it was waiting to get a car alarm and having them rip the top from the front to the back of the top just to open the door!).
I was wondering if you had contacted Symantec since if you install 360 on another system it will be yet another use of the license. If you happened to backup your Identity Safe profile and if you are able to install 360 on another system perhaps this will help cut down on the time it takes to change your passwords.
I wasn't sure if you were joking about Lo-Jack. I know it is after the fact but for the future (I don't know the monthly costs) there are programs out there that aid in locating a missing laptop. Also for future reference (you may have done this anyhow) if leaving something of importance in a vehicle make sure it is as much out of sight as possible. Under a seat for example or I usually try to lock stuff away in the trunk where it is both out of sight and a little more secure.
If you had a mobile card on there perhaps the company would be able to track it when it is in use. And besides Mo's suggestion perhaps checking local selling materials (newpaper, Penny saver type ad's, etc).
I'm sorry for your loss and can personally sympathise. Good luck to you and hopefully you have advised places such as banks, credit card companies, etc etc.
Take care,
