I just got my first Norton IS 2008 and it has removed the Spyware sign from my screen but it is not showing my  previous screen saver and my Display properties has lost 3 tabs. Can someone help me how to recover my previous screen and Display properties?

windows xp

xp home edition

You may need to reinstall the display driver, assuming that it didn't contain the sypware.

You should be able to reselect the screensaver, unless this was the spyware.  Try it without the screensaver first and do a scan of the drives to be sure you have it removed before you reenable it.

Ok stu

You show us yours and maybe we will show ours...:smileyvery-happy: (I mean this in good taste...no other way to ask than phrasing the question like that)

I guess you are right. I'll get you mine soon

Don't understand, why the question.

Mine's cluttered.

Mine usually has a family photo  on it…so I may change it before showing, weird it’s only showing a desktop…yet I hesitate to show it!

Hmmmm It seems you can not upload pictures…I can guess why.Any mods can answer why? I had the error HTML message turn up and removed the image.

There you go stu…nothing exciting…but the real mo!

(No I can still not post it and the HTML error is still current…arghhhh.…LOL)

I saw Delph could post a screenshot so I will try again hoping it might have only been the random HTML error bug…here goes…

What does your desktop look like?

Stu,

I understand asking about browsers, but why do you care what someone else's desktop looks like?

Hey Mo, it took me 10 minutes to do a screen shot yesterday because the editor is demanding an updated Adobe flash plugin.  I had to copy and recopy and download and install, and fool with it until I finally talked some .jpegs in.  Absolutely maddening, isn’t it?  Why do we have computers again???

Okay Stu,

Here is a Christmas Desktop from one of my XP machines. It is less cluttered than other times of the year.

(The desktop background is from the movie, The Polar Express)

Thanks Delph....I get no warning to update anything,I will try again (using FF)if this does not happen I will try IE8...or sit in the corner crying .....LOL

I wondered why stu would ask for a desktop shot but thought why not.

ARGGHHHH Feel my pain Delph...LOL...Ok I am now on IE8.Phil How did you do yours?? have I forgotton anything in the process saved to JPG upload using the my computer selection??

Still no joy!!!

I have tried 3 times just now…and updated the plugin…not sure on how to update the active x (I forgot) Sorry stu no desktop from me :smileysad:

Excellent taste, Phil! I had that same screen saver for 2 years straight before finally forcing myself to change it!!!

Great minds ....... !  :smileywink:

I keep it special by only using it during the Christmas Season.

I can't seem to post any screenshots...The HTML error will not allow it...any ideas??

Tried a direct link from Photobucket but still the HTML error…any men in Red…besides Santa want to give me a clue?:smileyvery-happy:

In the interest of contributing any info to Mo's issue, I will try to get my tax-time desktop inserted.
