Device not visible in the list

Issue abstract: Norton 360, device list, device missing from the list

Product & version number: Norton 360, 26.5.10990.0

OS details:Win 11

Detailed description: I subscribbed to Norton last week, I installed it on 5 devices so far. My main computer is seeing 4 devices in the list, but my other devices see all 5… I restarted the PC since multiple times. I relogged on my norton 360 already. It is kind of a sync issue, but not sure what else to do. Would not reinstall the software because of this if possible… Remote control is also enabled… Somebody any idea maybe? Thank You

You’ve likely run Norton LiveUpdate + Restart (not Shut down) machine
My Subscriptions page reports 5 of 5 used?

Remote Management, toggle it off, wait a minute, then on again on the affected PC + Restart (not Shut down) machine

The fifth device is properly registered in Norton’s cloud.
The problem is probably isolated to the Norton client or cached account data on that one PC.

If all five devices are activated and protected, I would not be overly concerned about one installation showing only four devices. The My Devices inventory has not always been perfectly synchronized across all clients. Monitor it for a few days and see whether it self-corrects before considering more invasive troubleshooting.

Yes. Among long-time Norton Community participants, complaints about the My Devices page are hardly new.

Typical reports include:

  • Device counts that don’t match the number of protected devices.
  • Devices appearing on some installations but not others.
  • Old devices remaining after they’ve been retired.
  • Duplicate entries after reinstalling Windows or Norton.
  • Delays before newly installed devices appear.
  • Device names changing unexpectedly.
  • Inconsistencies between the Norton client, the web portal, and other devices.

The common thread is that the device inventory/account-management layer has historically been less reliable than the actual licensing and protection components. Users often discover that:

  • The device is protected.
  • LiveUpdate works.
  • The subscription is active.
  • Remote features work.

…yet the My Devices page still looks wrong.

So when someone says:

“One PC shows 4 devices, all my other devices show 5.”

my first thought is not “reinstall Norton.” My first thought is:

“Sounds like another My Devices synchronization/display anomaly.”

If all five devices are activated and functioning normally, many experienced helpers would simply advise monitoring it for a few days before taking any drastic action. The history of My Devices complaints makes that a more plausible explanation than a licensing failure.

Well, I did what you have mentioned, but did not help.

I turned off the remote management. Waited 10 minutes. Turned it on. Restarted the pc, even done a live update, same issue.

I did it also in a different way. Turned off remote management. Waited some minutes. Run the live update. Turned on remote management. Restarted. Same issue.

I still cannot see the fifth device.

Also I had an issue with the account for example. I mean the icon was not working. When I created the account, I had an icon with TN. When I payed for the subscription, it changed to IN. I is my second name… When I went to my account, and changed the name back from ITN to TN it was not refreshing on the PC… This is why I logged out from the account and logged back.

Not sure if this helps, but this might be a hint.

Any other ideas maybe? Thank you for the try at least!

Haha, it is now working. What I did is, I went to the account, there to the licence key, opened details. That made a refresh, and when I went back to the main page, it refreshed the devices…

So it is working now. Not sure what will happen, if I add the 6th device -.- We’ll see…
