None of the security scan options are working

 

fast start up has nothing to do with the issue

as for why the scans are not working is another thing that could have several causes perhaps

could be a corrupted file or install

could need to run the auto fix , in classic mode click help top right

on that box on left click get support

let that run and see what the results are , it may show a installation or other problem found and say restart to apply the fix

if its a new install this could be the fix ( recommend when its a new install)

if its a new problem it could be as stated above corrupt or bad file somewhere ( not a new or recent install)

best option if the auto fix doesnt find or fix the issue do a reinstall

use the removal tool

Please Run Norton Autofix to detect and repair common problems

Please run Norton LiveUpdate + machine Restart (not Shut down)

Be sure you are using the Restart command. Not Shut down and startup again if you have Windows Fast Startup feature enabled. If you use Windows 8/8.1, 10 or 11, there can be an issue with the Windows Fast Startup feature.. See more information here. (credit peterweb)
