I have installed Norton Mobile Security on multiple android devices, under the same account (licence). I update them regulary and I don't understand why the version of the aplication is different on one device. On two devices I have Norton Mobile Security 3.16.0.3185 and on one device I have Norton Mobile Security 3.15.0.3147. Maybe because of the different version of android? On the first two I have Android 5.1. On the last I have Android 6.0. Anyway, I don't consider fair to not have the last version of Norton Mobile Security on all devices.
Do you remember how you signed up for that app's beta testing? Did you specifically look to test that app, or was it offered after you tapped on the offer I had noted? I have not signed on so I am not familiar with how you are offered the beta tests if you sign up.
Either way, it seems to have nothing to do with the Norton Beta. And the versions in question in this thread are not betas any more. I received my update this morning from the Play Store.
And, even so, the beta tester program is for Google application, not for third applications.
Thanks for pointing this out. We are sort of both correct here. My note in the other thread about signing up for the beta at the bottom of the page was not specifically for Norton. It is also not specifically for the Play Store app. When I checked it out, it gives users access to beta versions of Android apps on the Play Store that developers want to test before release. So this process could still lead to a user being signed up for Norton betas through this program.
Thank you for your replies. Indeed, on one of devices I am Google beta tester. But on the other two I'm not. Norton Mobile Security 3.16.03185 in installed on the beta one and on a not Google beta tester device. And, even so, the beta tester program is for Google application, not for third applications.
As bjm_ mentioned, the new version is being phased in for upgrades. I do not know how they control this, but it may be after a certain number of downloads, it gets locked again until Norton can determine there are no issues with the update. Why you did not get all devices updated, it could depend on when your devices were connected and/or turned on. I have seen the same with an update from Norton where one of my devices gets the new version and the other had to wait a few days to get it.
FWIW I still have not seen the update on my mobile devices.
I am not a beta tester and, anyway, I think I should have same version on all devices, beta or not beta. All of them are updating through Google Play whenever an update it's available.
