I've used Norton 360 since its debut. My original subscription was when I had the Windows 7 Home Premium OS. About 2 years ago I upgraded to Windows 7 Professional. After that time a Norton Update messed up my machine and then phone support made it even worse. I allowed a support tech to work on my machine remotely ... those guys are dangerous! Never again. Well after the kid got done thrashing around my machine it was mortally wounded. While on hold waiting for over an hour for the next tier tech to pick up the phone, I fixed the problem myself. Then they wanted me to pay them for their crappy customer service. Well I raised absolute hell about it and they put me on hold again. When someone finally got back with me they gave me a free renewal for 1 year. At least that would offset my phone bill, but did little for my stress/anger. Story over? No.
Well, I happened to look at my account devices page today (see attached pdf) and noticed that they have cancelled my Windows 7 Professional account while leaving my old Windows 7 account active! Why oh why did they do that? There must be different Norton versions or they wouldn't differentiate between Window 7 and Windows 7 Professional. It appears to me that I may be getting updates for the wrong Windows product. Can someone help me straighten this out?
