Digital Camera Problem-Norton 360 Version 3

I renewed my subscription to Norton 360 yesterday and updated to Version 3.  Now my computer, running Vista Business, does not recognize/find my two digital cameras when they are connected via USB.  I have already checked my USB ports, and uninstalled and reinstalled the Nikon Transfer and Kodak Easyshare software which had worked fine until the upgrade.  I also spent 4+ hours on an online chat with two different Norton technicians who remotely uninstalled and reinstalled Norton and attempted numerous setting adjustments to the Norton Firewall.  No luck.  Their last suggestion was to uninstall Version 3 and reinstall an earlier version, which we have not tried yet.  In the meantime as an experiment, I also installed the Nikon Transfer software on another computer that is running Norton 360, Version 2.5.  After the software installation, I connected the camera via USB, the device was recognized, and the transfer software automatically loaded.  I have to think that Version 3 is the problem.   I will resume the consultation with the Norton techs tomorrow, but I am looking for any feedback from the forum first.

I have seen several posts regarding this problem (failure to recognize cameras and iPhones) on other troubleshooting forums, but no real solutions.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Having seen a couple of instances of posts like this the common factor in resolving them seems to have been the reloading, by whatever means, of the drivers for the devices being used.

Hi Exhausted,

This solution was found to be worked in similar problems with Sony Walkman, MP3 player, etc. Check in the Device manager for the drivers when you plug-in the Digital Camera to USB, and delete the driver for USB cord when you find it. Disconnect the USB device(Digital Camera), then connect again, and windows should install the drivers again. Check how it works. If the problem persists, check in the Network Map after connecting the Camera to USB. If it is listed there, make sure that it is trusted.
