Digital Photo Frames with an Extra Feature?

This just stinks!!! Apparently some of the very popular digital photo frames come with an extra, added feature - a computer virus! Folks using solid internet security software (such as Norton) and who keep it up to date are protected even if they got a dud frame. Did you get one of these frames for Christmas? If it's still in the box, read up on which models are affected before you connect to your family pc.

My husband gave me one of those frames a few holidays back but we returned it. I'm still pretty happy using actual photobooks (like those from the digital photo sites such as Snapfish) and, honestly,  if I had an ever-changing view of my family's vacation snaps and digital memories in my office, I'd never get any work done at all!! But I know many people love these frames and feature them prominently in their living rooms and office cubes.

I suppose the message here is as technology allows us to combine traditional items with digital memory storage, we run the risk of viruses hiding in new places. It is a reminder to back up, to be sure you are using good safety precautions and to question when new technology is really an improvement on the old, or just "cooler" and then you can decide for yourself whether or not you will get it.
