On 3 of my 4 Windows 10 PCs (2 Pro, 2 Home) if I right click the Norton Icon in my taskbar the "Disable Auto-Protect" option is greyed-out. The Norton website says that if a reboot doesn't resolve the issue (it didn't on any of the PCs) then the only option is to run Norton R&R (which does correct the issue, but is a pain in the neck).
I assume a recent auto update must have corrupted Norton 360. Has anyone else noticed this issue and does anyone know if Norton Tech support is aware that the issue exists?
My account is the admin account on all the PCs.
As I mentioned in my original post running the Norton Remove and Reinstall Utility resolved the issue on all 3 of my PCs.
If you are using a Standard Windows user account, those settings to disable Smart Firewall and Auto Protect are not available to you. You need to logged into a Windows admin user account to have access to those settings, and most other settings from the Norton user interface.
