I've looked all thru the NAV 2009 settings menu and cannot find a way to control the frequency (or even disable ) the Auto Liveupdate that happens every 15 seconds or few minutes. In NIS '09, it's in 'update' option under compurter settings menu...however I do not see the same options in NAV'09.
While I do appreciate the intent of up-to-date safety and attempt at limiting internet bandwidth thru pulse updates, it is still noticable.
In the help folder, it says "you can cancel the liveupdate session." Perhaps Im not seeing something... how? It never tells the user when its updating, the counter just rolls over to 'definition updates x seconds ago"
Also in the help folder it says this"
In the Norton AntiVirus main window, in the Computer pane, click Settings.
Under Updates, in the Automatic LiveUpdate row, move the On/Off switch to the right to the Off position."
As said before, this is not accurate. These options do not exist in my Computer options pane of NAV 2009. Is there a possibility that I have a beta version instead? It was downloaded as my NAV2008 kept notifying me about the free upgrade with link provided.
Along the same lines-- turning off all Pulse updates as well would be greatly appreciated... basically keeping NAV from making its own connections at all until I choose. We're lucky to get dialup speeds on this tiny isle.
Thanks!
