In Mozilla Firefox, I keep getting the message "The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided." I am using Norton 360 2012. How do I disable the SSL scanning or what should I do to correct the problem?
Hai ToriaLynn1602,
This is probably because the CR failed for the particular site. This is more related to disabling CRL checking in mozilla and has little to be done with NIS. For further assist with SSL you can add its port to firewall exception as a last resort. The following links maybe helpful:

Please try the site (if you dont mind share the URL for which you found this error) with another browser and check if the problem persists.

Welcome,
That doesn't sound like something that's Norton related. You might check with the site owner or webmaster to see if they can resolve the issue on their end.
Keep us posted
CR : Certificate Revocation
CRL : Certificate Revocation List
Probably there should be some network error or security error with site.
Hi, ToriaLynn1602; welcome to our community!
Note that what you're seeing could also indicate that the site you're trying to visit is malicious, so you may at the very least want to check it in Norton SafeWeb before proceeding:
After that, trying it in another browser--especially one like Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Chrome, which have Norton integration--would be a good next step.
Finally, it looks like your Norton software is two versions behind. The newer versions have improved detection engines and other enhancements--and you're entitled to free upgrades as long as you have a current Norton subscription--so I would also encourage you to visit the Norton Update Center for the latest and greatest:

Hi ToriaLynn1602,
In addition to what suggested by DistEd2 , you could check the website with Sucuri SiteCheck as well.
Unfortunately, none of these helped. I previously used Firefox to access this website at least 5 times a week. It is my university's website for my online classes.
I can access the website in Internet Explorer. I am also having problems with accessing Facebook in Firefox, Internet Explorer and Chrome. I used to be able to do this with ease and now the website does not recover well. Any suggestions for this also? I would like to start using Firefox again.
