When disc optimizer rearranges data on the disc it somehow manages to overwrite Norton 360 itself, The result means that the uninstall and reinstall program has to be run which is time consuming and very annoying. So this falls between needing a solution and being able to work around the problem.
How have you determined it is the disc optimizer that is doing this?
I would just turn that feature off in Norton Settings. Modern computer hardware does not really benefit from defragging. And Windows own optimization features are what Norton calls anyway. Just leave it to Windows.
