Do Not Recognize my Web Browser

Hi Steve. Unless anyone else has any other ideas, it might be worth reinstalling Norton 360 using the Remove and Reinstall Tool, which will uninstall your current version, and replace it with a clean one. Then it might recognise a browser.

The link is here .      http://www.norton.com/nrnr

Not having much luck with that

The Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool (NRnR.exe) tells me that "An unrecoverable roor has occurred" I click on the link it gives for more inormation - but it doesn't give any move information it just sends me to https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/kb20080710133834EN_EndUserProfile_en_us?src=nrt

How come that tool can open a page in Firefox but nothing in Norton 360 can?

Anyway, I ploughed ahead and installed & ran the Norton Removal Tool mentioned on that page (Norton_Removal_Tool.exe)

But that seems to get hung up on the stage "Removing folder trees". It's been sitting at that stage for ages, much longer than it would take to remove every file in the filesystem

But I think that leaves me unprotected so I'll now try reinstalling Norton 360

Well after the usual struggles I finally managed to reinstall Norton 360 - and now it does finall respond when I click on the Feedback or the Support -> Help links

Thanks

Glad to hear it now works. Often a reboot, or a reinstall works wonders !....

One thing no one asked was, do you now or have you ever had another security program on your computer? If so, you will have to remove it with the removal tool for that program.

This could explain why you were having the initial problem and why you had trouble reinstalling 360.
