Does anyone know how to get rid of the IWantU virus

Does anybody know how to remove the IWantU virus? I have been asking tech support, every other day now, for help to get rid of this infection, and it just keeps coming back. It disables all my extensions, every time I log back into my computer, it corrupts MyNorton page where it doesn't work correctly, and support keeps helping me when my PC warns me to un-install/re-install Norton 360. The error I keep getting every other day now is 8504,104.

I do not know for 100% that it is a virus, What I do know is that Norton gave me the same error(s) codes as the original poster and wanted me to uninstall it. Then when I didn't enter my Credit Card (CC) and canceled the removal the error codes went away and have not come back, and I suspect they will not..

I did a scan with the Malwarebytes program, and it found and repaired 30 issues.

No, I didn't but I am getting the same error(s) and when I canceled the removal the error went away and hasn't returned, I am restarting after I post this; I want to see if it will come back. The error / Possible bug asked me to log in to Norton, which I trustingly did. It then told me my subscription was bad and I needed to enter a new CC, which I didn't do. I have been a Norton customer since 1995 and have not once ever had Norton tell me to UNINSTALL one of its products or want me to enter a CC into a non-sure pop-up.

I instead came to the official site and logged in that way, and learned that nothing was wrong with my account. and I began looking for the error(s) codes here.

Norton began acting funny this morning, after about a year of problem-free performance.

So, your issue is not how to get rid of the IWantU virus?

I am experiencing the same issue currently, I cannot get support online. It's telling me I need to uninstall Norton to be protected... I have done as this post suggested and will post an update later. Until then I need to know how to get rid of this bug.

Same issue as opening poster?
Curious, you have an I Want U account?

Also when it gives me the warning again I will take a screen shot

Hello Scarey1. I would first download, install and run the FREE version of Malwarebytes on the computer. MBAM will detect certain things that Norton doesn't concentrate on since Norton protects the operating system primarily. If you are on Windows 8 or above disable "fast startup" in your power settings as well. A good tutorial is here in case you are not familiar with the settings. This setting, when ENABLED, hold certain system data resident in memory. We want Windows to RELEASE that data and flush. Malwarebytes will more than likely detect it anyway. Please let us know how things go so we can assist further.

Cheers
