Dump Quicktime and anthing else MAC related. When you install iTunes or Quicktime it also installs Apple Updater. Use Quicktime alternative.

I need Quicktime to view my cameras movies,What harm is Apple updater?you can still choose if you want to download what they are offering.I appreciate you show what other products are out there but you can come across as intimidating.As a new user I just want to get used to what I have then maybe branch out later on.

I have recently upgraded Quicktime and was checking in the add/remove section on the control panel.And came across this I scanned it came up no virus,apparently its some form of freeware.It does not say what its connected to i.e. program etc.any ideas.

Quicktime Alternative is a completely safe product and has been out for years. Its safer and faster then Quicktime itself. It will work with your camera. BTW you never have to use the Software your camera or any other component comes with. I have a Sony Cybershot but I never istalled the software cause there is no need to. I am not intimating but educating. Think safe. Quicktime Alternative doesn’t come with all the bloat that Quicktime does. There is also Real Alternative for Real Player.

Please stop demading. If Users are happy with Programs installed, then there are Patches and Security Updates to Protect users.
Its not a demand. Its a suggestion. You should realize this.

Dieslman thanks for the extra info,Its clear you know a lot and help out greatly but saying "Dump" Quicktime etc is aggressive.And I realize the main reason I use mainstream software is because its well known and yes we are marketed to feel safe and comfortable with well known brands.Thats how I chose Norton after all!When I get my head around all this "internet,security.and computers in general"I will gladly have a look at other stuff.After all the next thing that we usually try is by recommendation/word of mouth.

- Portable. To uninstall, delete the directory
- Lightweight
- Does not use registary
- Plays anything under the sun.
