We're using an older version of ghost (8.3 I believe) that we run from a PE, copy images down from a server. I was curious, based on some peculiar things we’ve seen; does Norton Ghost format a drive when it copies an image to a machine?
I had a PC that had about 40gb of data on it, and the ghost image is about 4gb… but it appeared that some files from before the imaging had reappeared on the newly imaged machine. So I wasn’t sure if Ghost just zeroes out the HDD before it copies the image over, or if it actually formats it.
I can't seem to find any info on how Ghost actually clones the drives.
Any help is appreciated!
