Does NIS subscription covers both mac and windows?

Hi,

I have a norton internet security subscription and I am about to get a Mac. Will my current subscription cover both my Mac and my windows computers?

Thanks,

ejc

HI ejcosta:

Welcome to the Norton Community!

Unfortunately, that Product Key will be tied to your NIS subscription and cannot be used as a valid Key for the Mac.

Sorry about that!

Please check out the Mac forum here for more on this because there is from time to time a dual package available that covers Mac & Windows. But it's hard if not impossible to find on the Norton website but you might find it in the stores or on the internet. But watch out that any Internet source is authorized and not a sca.=m

However I do see a good price there for NIS for Mac

Hi Hugh:

I believe they have separate product keys.

The Key, in general, not transferable between the Mac and NIS.

That's what Support had mentioned to me, per my inquiry. :smileyhappy:

Thanks. I appreciate your help in clarifying this. I did found a reference somewhere for a dual protection package, but I can't find anything about it in the norton website :(

Hi

Go here and click help me choose->then MAC products you can see the Dual Protection Package.

Hi Subash:

I understand what you are saying... good price for both...

However, I think that the OP just wanted to know if the existing NIS Key is simply interchangable with the Mac product.

Cheers!

Hi Atomic

He had mentioned that he is not able to find the dual package in Norton Website, So added the info where to find it ;)

A-B

Which means that he can use the Mac version now on the new Mac and save the Windows version KEY until he needs it for his Windows PC and get a year on each for $70

ejcosta,

Follow Subash's links and when you click on Help me Decide you get a semi video and eventually you can select the dual package and then for it get some more information.

Note that they are separate and so you can use the Mac version and KEY now and save the Windows one until you need to renew your Windows installation -- the keys do not expire. Don't use the Windows KEY now since it will not add to your present subscription but replace it .... although the OnLine Support Staff are good at adding that back in when asked it's simpler not to need to!

And also do not be put off that the Windows version says it is the 2010 version. The Key will work on later versions including the 2012 you may have now or the 2013 you may have when you need to renew!

So it looks like a good buy unless you can find it cheaper on line from a reputable source.
