Does NIS2013's scan also search for viral remnants?

The other day, I posted on this forum about a virus which a fully-updated NIS2013 and Power Eraser were unable to find.  I worked for several hours on my machine, trying to locate the infection, and eventually found two DLL files and some associated registry entries.  Quads then helped to identify it as a new Tracur.B variant.

My question is this: assuming that I was unable to find all of the registry entries, DLLs, or other files infected/created by this virus, would Norton (once it is updated to recognize this variant) be able to locate any remnants I did not eliminate myself?  Or do I have to have a full infection for NIS to find those remnants?  I don't like the idea of a few registry keys etc. being left behind.
