Hope this is the correct place to ask these questions and to try to find this information since the Norton support tech suggested I ask here since he was not able to help (he did try) and sent the link.
I am trying to find out if the newest software Norton Security has a native 64 bit software version to obtain use on my windows8.1, 64 bit machine. I have just gotten off of the Norton Support site and it was suggested by the tech that I ask here on this forum. I am not asking if Norton Security will run on a 64 bit windows 8.1 machine, I am sure that if it is available only as a 32 bit software that it will run on my 64 bit machine. I just want to know if I can get Norton Security in a 64 bit version that will run on my 64 bit windows machine without needing a emulation program. This would help me decide to upgrade from NIS to Norton Security.
Also I just downloaded NIS from my account and I thought Norton would sense I have a 64 bit windows machine and download a 64 bit program. But the version downloaded is only 32 bits. Is this correct and is NIS only available in 32 bit software? The 32 bit version of NIS is working fine (so far I just downloaded it) I am wondering if I should have gotten a 64 bit software version of NIS or if there was a 64 bit version to get. Again, the tech(s) could not help with me either question and sent me the link to this forum to ask. I have also not been successful with searching online to find confirmation that there is or is not a 64 bit version of NIS or Norton Security.
