Downgrade NIS 2009 to NIS 2008

my problem


i have 5 pc with nis 2008 (no problem) upgraded to nis2009

 

three pcs i have no problem with nis 2009, these are new, maybe one or one and a half year old.

 

1 pc is intel core2 cpu 6400 @ 2.13 ghz, 2 gb ram, radeon x1650 series

1 laptop is intel® core 2 duo mobile processor 2.0ghz ram ddr2

1 laptop is amd athlon 64 x2 dual-core processor tk-55 (1.8 ghz)

 

 

2 pc i have many problems, they are very very slow, its block my programs, i can not starting.

if i reboot, i can not with nis 2009 working, the hourglass running and  the pc is blocked,

i have no patience more twenty minutes to wait

 

1 pc are amd athlon 2000+, (1.66GHz) 1 gb ram, radeon 7000 series, xp prof. *

1 pc are  amd athlon xp 2400, 1.2 gb ram nividia geforce3

 

Now i have 1 pc *  dowgrade of nis2007 and no more  problem with this pc.

 

i think the problem is the pc, perhaps i should reinstall. first i want to upgrade to nis2008 and found a link. Now i have upgrade to nis 2008 and my pc works fine.

I found this link for nis 2008,  symantec.com/ newnis/  but the program is available in english.

 

they have a link for nis 2008 in german.?

Yes, I feel your pain too, may roll back to Symantec Corporate that my work provides.

I've always just norton, no others

 

spy sweeper, a2free, ad-aware , thats all.

 

I want everything to remove, with

 

start, control panel, software, nis 2008, remove

reboot, removal tool

 

I can do more to the system to clean?

I'd like to ask if there is a special reason why you are using Private Messages to help the user here to solve the problem? The whole nature of Forums -- not just here -- is that of one user helping another and doing so publicly so that all benefit, which the use of Private Messaging precludes.

 

Obviously there are circumstances when the use of Private Messaging is desirable: it would otherwise disclose some confidential personal data; it might be "dangerous" in its effects on a PC if used incorrectly; etc. But in general it seems to me that using Private Messaging stops the Forums from benefiting all users.

 

This is in no way a rebuke! Just a search for what is best for all of us.

I agree to you that using PMs restrict the view of all users in public forums like this, but it can be used where & when it is needed(depends). I have provided an information(download link to German version of NIS) to Basler in PM- as I was not sure whether it is a correct one and don't want to post a wrong one in this thread where everyone has access. :smileyindifferent:

Thanks for the explanation. I think I'd suggest stating just that as part of the message and maybe even giving the link but a warning at the same time.

 

There is certainly no objection to posting links to other Symantec websites -- I've done that in the past when we were getting a number of people having problems when the localized versions of things were not playing with the US ones ....

2 pc great problem with nis 2009

 

now i have downgrade on nis 2008, and i have no problem

 

for remove all norton

 

with start, control panel, software, nis 2008, remove

I can do more to the system to clean?
 
share of an old version makes problems?
 
and then new installation from nis 2009

Basler,

 

To remove all Norton programs and cleanup the computer, just run Norton removal tool multiple times(2-3 times). That will completely remove all the components of Norton program from your computer.

Did you catch the full meaning of what was said about the Norton Removal Tool – it will remove all Norton Programs on your machine. No selection possible so beware if you have others you want to keep, say GHOST or Save & Restore …
