Download NIS 2013

HI,

My subscription for NIS 2012 will be end this April. But till then, can I upgrade to NIS 2013 with my "Old NIS 2012 Key"?

And, "where can I download the working version of NIS 2013"?

Thanks.

Ed

downloading NIS2013 isn't going to make your subscription last any longer, you need a new key. If you want to download the new version and say you have a unused NIS 2013 key. then

www.norton.com/nis20

is the new version but like I said, once you use a new key your old subscription is toast. even if  you had  week left in it.

Hello EDLIU and welcome to the Community.  Are you asking if you can use your existing NIS 2012 subscription to upgrade to the newest NIS 2013?  I think as long as you have a valid subscription, you can upgrade to the newer NIS 2013.  You will then be running NIS 2013 until your subscription expires ends in April.  If I'm wrong I hope someone corrects me..

You can upgrade free of charge any time you want during your subscription and if you use the Support / New Version Check or if you go to your MyNortonAccount and click on the DOWNLOAD button you will get the most recent available for download version of NIS 2013.

After the instlation is complete run LiveUpdate manually with a reboot inbetween until it tells you that you are completely uptodate.

If you use the Identity Safe for logins and passwords it would be prudent to export the data file for that in the two file versions it offers "just in case ..." Put the files in a safe place preferably on a thumbdrive or external hard drive and where you can find them again.

You do not need a 2013 key to activate 2013 ... the older keys will activate if needed but the way I have described gives you a preactivated installation for the duration of your present subscription. If you use the file Jerry points to then you may need the key but should not if you are doing an on top installation which will preserve your Identity Safe local vault.

Ask if you have any questions ....

PS Now is a good time to look for bargain copies of NIS on sale in the retail stores or on line since the clock does not start to run on them until you activate an installation, say in April .... but watch out for places that may activate the copy at checkout in order to reduce shop lifting -- I gather WALMART and some other stores do this and from feeback recently the clock starts running when you check out.  If you buy on line make sure the source is relaible since there are plenty of scammers around.
