Download Norton Removal Tool

Connection with the server could not be established - Error 12029.

Norton Internet Security for Windows XP.

Error 9999,175 - Install failed.

Downnload "Norton Removal Tool" from the site appointed by Norton seems  100% impossible.

I've trying hard to do it even with the support from my Internet provider.

Is there any other reliable alternative source to enable me to download the "Norton Removal Tool" from?

Cleber

Welcome to the Norton Community

Go to

www.symantec.com/nrt

This will allow you to dowmlaod the removal tool

Is there some other antivirus or security program on your machine that has complicated matters.  Some ISP’s provide their own security programs.

The site you  mention can not be openned either.

Thanks,

Cleber

What about this one?

The site you mention can't be opened either.

Thanks

Cleber

Can you try downloading the removal tool from another computer onto a flash drive, which you can then plug into your computer?

It did not work, too. No connection available with the site you have indicated.

Thanks,

Cleber

I don't know how to do it. How difficult is it?

Hi cleber,

It appears you are not able to connect to various Symantec / Norton sites. Are you able to connect to any security program sites?

Please check this computer "Eye Chart" and let us know the results.

I also see that you have been having this problem for some days, to judge from the number and date of threads you have opened on the same issue. Please follow Phil’s suggestion, there might be malware on your computer blocking your access to security sites; we’ve got to find out what is blocking your connection.

Cleber, the sites work for me. However, to download the file, you have to click on the bar on top since IE blocks downloads unless you say it’s ok to d/l the file. Check your security settings in IE or what ever browser you are using. Perhaps, they are too restricted to be able to d/l any files.

You have malware on your system that is blocking the access to several security sites.  Please do the following and report back.  Thanks.

Please download MalwareBytes’ AntiMalware from this LINK . Choose the free version as this does not have a real time scanner that will interfere with Norton products. Install the program and update the definitions.

Boot into Safe Mode:
Start your system and tap the F8 key until the Advanced Options Menu appears. Using the arrow keys, select Safe Mode (no networking or command prompt) and press ENTER.

Once Safe Mode is loaded, run a full scan with MBAM. Have the program fix / delete whatever it finds and make a log file. Please post the log file contents back here for review.  Or you can attach the log file to a reply post by using the Add Attachments link just above the orange post button.
Please download SysProt here http://homepages.slingshot.co.nz/~crutches/SysProt  ,disable Norton’s Auto-Protect feature (Settings > Real Time Protection > Auto-Protect > Off) and run SysProt.

Choose the Log tab and select all the items in the Write to log box. Then select Create Log to start scanning. When it is done, a message window will appear with the location of the log file.

Please attach the log file to a post here; the Add Attachments links is below the orange Post button. Thanks
