Where can I download a bug-free NIS 2010 installer.
The Norton on the computer was a 30 day subscription that can with it (SONY VAIO). I do have the product ID details (25 characters) . Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Glenn
The Norton site for activating products was down for awhile this afternoon. I just checked and it's operational now. You should be able to activate it now.
Hope this helps
I've attempted to download the NIS purchased online X4. My account still says it is unactivated, and using Live Update it says 'expired'. When downloading the Norton symbol only appears breifly on the desktop. Sometimes with a small 'x' over it. This is a hassle and the fact you can't speak to a live person is a pain. Can you solve this problem or tell me how to get my $$ back? Glenn
The information provided by dickevans may explain part of your problem.
To further elaborate, if you have the current version of NIS 2011 (18.5.0.125) already installed, you do not have to download and reinstall it.
Just click "Renew" at the bottom of the main Norton interface and you will be presented with a window where you can enter your new key. However, you should do this when the 30 day trial is 1 or 2 days from expiring, otherwise you will lose any remaining days.
The trial version is a fully functional version which will become a standard retail version when you enter the new key.
The program sent with the computer had already expired, and I then purchased the current NIS online (sorry I don't know its version). I'll go back to what is on my computer and see if I can find the 'renew' button, as I do have the code to insert. Thanks, Glenn
It actually worked! and it seems I'm good to go. Not an easy process by any means. Thanks, so much! Glenn PS Not sure how to add the kudos but well deserved.
Hello glenn
To add Kudos to a post, just click on the green star on the post . Also, you can click on the post which gave you the solution. In Options, you should be able to take away the solve on the post you marked as solved and click the solve button on the post which gave you the solution.
I'm glad that you were able to solve your problem. Please remember to run live update so that you receive all the missing updates. Thanks.
Do check the version ID -- -- Help or Support / About is where that is, in the format of nn.nn.nn.nnn -- on your copy and if it's other than 18.5.0.125 please let us know what it is and we can help you get fully uptodate. The new current KEY will not change the actual version you have installed since KEYS are backwards and forwards compatible but only alter the subscription.
I'd also run LiveUpdate once manually to make sure it tells you that you are fully uptodate on definitions etc on whatever version you have.
