I'm in the process of downloading Norton Ghost using the download manager, and I'd like to figure out what I did wrong to loose the whole download ( about 90% downloaded) when I paused and exited the download manager to turn my system off for awhile.
When I clicked on the Exit button, I got a dialog asking if I wanted to resume at a later time, (I answered YES) and it placed a "Resume download" icon on my desktop.... so far, so good...
So, I shut my system down as normal, fully expecting to pick up where I left off with about 10% left to go downloading.
After rebooting my system (later on), I clicked on the Resume icon to continue downloading and Internet explorer pops up returning me to the Download manager page where I again clicked on "Click to download your file now"...
Guess what?
It started downloading, but not at the 90% mark where I left off, but all the way BACK TO THE BEGINNING at 0%!!!!
Oh yeah, I'm also using a dial up, and that first 90% took me over a day and a half to download, so you can imagine what my blood pressure is like right about now... Especially after I tried several times to get back to where I left off.
Even after downloading a few megs of the program and trying to resume (without turning the system off, just exiting download manager) starts the download over from byte 0...
Am I missing something or doing something wrong to cause this, or am I stuck having to wait out the full download without interruption???
