Dreadful Customer Service

Having purchased Norton Internet Security recently I was pretty surprised to get hit with a nasty virus that Norton failed to pick up. Tried to get rid of it but failed and stupidly ended up spending another £60 on Norton's "premium" Spyware and Virus Removal service.

 

If I had wanted to spend hours on the phone with various polite but ineffectual people who spent ages remotely playing around with my computer but not achieving a **bleep** thing but making a million promises they had then this was money was well spent, otherwise a total disaster.

 

I have emailed Norton a few times about this but surprise surprise no one has got back to me and I am guessing my chance of getting a refund is remote unless I am surprised many more hours with clueless call centre employees in far flung outposts of the world.

 

My main concern is that Norton is supposed to be a good product that prevents these viruses and failing that having had the cheek to charge me an extra fee you would assume they could remove the virus in question.

 

Can anybody recommend a decent alternative?
