I suspect using a "drive mounted as NTFS folder" causes Norton Ghost 15 backups to silently fail.
- I have a drive mounted in an NTFS folder path
- I pointed my backups to this drive
- the backups seem to proceed normally in that I see files being created during the backup step
- EXCEPT... at the end the backups created disappear. There are no files and no failure messages. Norton seems happy that everything is done but the files that were being created are gone after it completes.
Can anyone at Norton/Symantec confirm this is your bug? The worst part is that there is no failure messages. I just happened to notice that there weren't any new backup files for months!
Thanks. Since my system is at risk at the moment I'm giving up on folder mounted NTFS files and seeing if this goes away.
