Hi,

I recently upgraded to NIS 2008 and after doing so was unable to use my DSL modem at all. My network connection indicates "removed" or something similar for the DSL USB modem. I have now had to completely uninstall NIS. In desperation I have tried the NIS 2009 beta but get the same problem.

I have just recently updated my subscription for another year so am not pleased by this turn of events.

Any suggestions?

Yes - I have reinstalled NIS 2008 twice and NIS 2009 beta once. (And as part of the process Windows XP twice because I initially thought it may relate to something else).

In all cases when I install I get no error message and the software starts fine. However I am unable to use my internet connection because the device in the "Connect using:" field on the General tab of the connection properties is marked with a little red cross icon and a "Removed" label

As a result I have resorted to XP's firewall and have no virus software at the moment.

A solution would be great - a pointer to NIS 2007 (which worked fine) and a refund of my newly paid subscription would be acceptable.

:)

Thank you for response. Unfortunately none of this solves my problem.

I am going to look to get my money back and spend it elsewhere :)

Kind regards

Have you tried re-installing N.I.S. 2008?  Do you get any Error Messages?  Have you got any Anti-Virus Software Installed at the moment?
