E-mail from orange.fr blocked

Hi all,

I have a client in France who sends me e-mail using his accounts with orange.fr. Recently he's been getting them kicked back as undeliverable. A search online shows me that there was an issue with the site being hacked last year, so it was blocked as dangerous by Norton at the time, but that issue was resolved. Why is Norton blocking e-mails from orange.fr now, and how can I make it stop doing it??

Thanks,

Jolayne,

Hang on for some help on this.

I just checked orange.fr on SafeWeb on my NIS and it came up as Clean and OK so maybe it is being blocked along the way as sometimes happens since if it were your NIS I don't know that it would send them back to the sender.

Have you checked in your History to see if there is any record of your installation of NIS doing anything?

You can also disable incoming mail checking without much risk of decreasing security since anything that comes in that way would be checked by Norton if you or the system accessed it. Worth trying this and asking him to resend?

Hi indyjas,

It is probably your client's, or your, email service provider rejecting the messages for some reason.  Even though an email error notice will appear in a Norton window, the alert actually originates with the ISP to indicate that an email server somewhere is refusing to deliver the message.  Have your client check with his service provider.
