E-mail Notifications RE: New Replies to Subscribed Threads Not Working

I apparently stopped receiving automated e-mail notifications about new replies to threads I'm subscribed to (as well as incoming private messages) approx.a week ago and didn't realize there was a problem until I logged in to the forum today today and saw I had unread PMs in my inbox.

Could someone from Norton please confirm that this is a known issue?  I've already tried tweaking the notification settings in my Norton Account and confirmed I haven't accidentally added notifications@community.nortonlifelock.com to the Blocked Senders list in my Outlook e-mail client, and I don't want to waste more time trying to fix things on my end if Norton's backend e-mail server is down.

...."Mark As Solution" option is now available for the post.

Hi Sunil_GA:

Thanks, this thread has now been marked as Solved.

Thanks, @lmacri current forum post was posted with the "I do not need a solution..) option which I have changed it to " I need a  solution". "Mark As Solution" option is now available for the post.

Hi Sunil_GA:

One more problem.  I no longer see the "Mark as Solved" option for any of the replies in this thread, so could you please mark your 22-Oct-2020 post <here> as the solution.  I tried logging out of the forum, disabling all my browser extension, restarting my Firefox browser, and logging back in but still can't see the "Mark as Solved" option for replies in this thread.

I can still see the "Mark as Solved" option in older unanswered topics I've started in this forum so this might be a one time glitch. When I was posting in this thread this morning I tried to Preview my reply and received an error, so I don't know if that caused a problem with the ownership of this particular thread or if this "Marked as Solved" issue is affecting other users.

Thanks for the update.  I received email notifications for your reply <above> as well as the @mention for @lmacri it included so I'll go ahead and mark this thread as solved.

The link to view the @mention in today's email notification still didn't work correctly (i.e., the embedded link https://community.norton.com/en/comment/8491939 incorrectly lands me at the top of this thread and not on your reply with the @mention at https://community.norton.com/en/comment/8491939#comment-8491939) but that issue was raised 14-Oct-2020 in Upcoming Forum Site Maintenance Notification so I'll leave it to Norton to decide if that's another glitch that needs to be fixed.

@lmacri, the issue with forum email notifications not being sent was fixed. @ mentions links not taking to tagged comment - will look into it. Thanks

Hi Sunil_GA:

Has Norton found a permanent resolution to this problem?  I'm not subscribed to enough active threads to know if email notifications for private messages and new comments in forum topics are being delivered consistently again.

I'm also not sure if the problem with malformed links in email notifications for @mention alerts (see the second image I posted on 14-Oct-2020 in Upcoming Forum Site Maintenance Notification) was ever fixed.

Forum email notifications appear to be working again. smiley

Yes, I have the same problem.

Hi @lmacri, We have ongoing backend issue causing forum email notifications not being sent. Our team working on this issue and will update once its fixed.  Sorry about the trouble caused.

FWIW ~ my understanding -

Forum email notifications are not being sent due to back-end issues -
Team working with forum email service provider to solve this issue -
Community Admin are looking into alternate solutions -
