I only have about five-ten minutes to Edit a Post before it goes away.  :smileysad:  Will double-check this, though.

Edit time is set at 60 minutes.  It is intended so that a user can correct typo's and/or fix formating issues.    

 

Reece's comments as to why posts are frozen after that time period are correct.  

 

If you wish to change what you said after that time period you will simply have to repost to the thread, "After I wrote the post above I learned more.... and now.... etc.."

   Just wondering why there seems to be a time limit for you to Edit Posts, after which, you will not longer be able to Edit them?

 

I think there should be no time limit on Editing Posts.

The problem with unlimited editing of a users own posts is that someone can edit previous post(s) and then back-peddle on what they said or didn't say, in a later post in that thread or another thread.

 

I believe that you are currently able to make updates within 60 minutes but after that you have to stick to what you said.

 

Also note that if you update a post, users that have already read it won't generally see those edits so putting your changes into a new message also helps to communicate the change or additional information.
